It’s the wedding with LOADS. Load of loveliness, loads of bunting, loads of teacups, loads of cakes, loads of sand, and most importantly loads of laughter.
Welcome Oliver & Sarah to the blog, with a wedding that’s not your typical day out. I don’t normally indulge in afternoon tea or picnics on the beach, but on Sept 4th that’s exactly what happened. With a civil ceremony at the wonderful Highcliffe Castle, who would’t then find time for a stroll down onto the beach. Guests took this opportunity to make their way to the fabulous wedding reception venue of The Old Vicarage, where Oli & Sarah met them soon after. It’s a lot to fit into a day, but the schedule calmed down once the champagne started to flow during the reception, and guests enjoyed fun and games on the lawn followed by afternoon tea. Where tea was the theme for the day too. Ohh, that and cricket, two of Oli’s passions in life!
A mammoth amount of organising had been undertaken by Sarah, possibly the most excitable bride ever, who even found time to wrap me up a little something as a thank you. So in return, here is my thank you…..a super extended blog post with what is quite possibly the most ever photos I’ve included in one go.
I hope you enjoy this fun filled collection of Highcliffe Castle wedding photos.
For the record, Sarah has GREAT EYE LIDS. Every day is a school day for me, and today I learnt that not all eye lids are equal.
Sarah’s however are the creme de la creme.
Nothing upsets a dads routine, even if it is a wedding day.
“Here Gran, pop you’re hat on and I’ll do your flower so you’re ready to go!”
Pretty bling for a pair of wedding shoes.
“Forward more, or backwards slightly?” The question on every brides lips with regards the head piece. My answer…… “ask a bridesmaid!”
“Uh, how exactly do we tie these?”
The super sensational Highcliffe Castle (albiet I must confess you do only use the Orangery on the left of the photo) :-)
Whoop whoop, Sarah has arrived!
I believe the cricking term is ‘sledging’, or heckling as others may well know it. This is what you get from unruly ushers in the front row!
What was well describe on my FB page as ‘The Matrix Move’.
Only with your closest of friends is this acceptable.
Hamper packed, lets hit the beach.
Photobombing at it’s best :-)
Not only was the beach fantastic, but I also had a soft spot for these sculptural trees that lined the cliff top.
Is that yet another hint of the ‘Matrix Move’ unfolding?
When it came to confetti, Sarah made sure this wasn’t in short supply. OMG….it left a trail as wide as the lawn itself!
Yeah, it often ends up down your cleavage. :-)
What a creative table plan. Love the theme.
Afternoon tea, and yes it was delicious, I was properly looked after.
How cool are these cricket inspired place names?
Sarah chose to showcase her full collection of facial expression during speeches.
> Enter the caricaturist <
“Okay, my first victim, what shall I start with, any obvious features?”
Yep, pleased with that one! No, it wan’t the girl clapping, ohh noooo, t’was the lady hiding her face :-(
Not competitive at all ;-)
I thought the kids were meant to do the dressing up?
