May should be a hot month right, it’s the beginning of spring after all! Well, check out these Ardington House wedding photos from Jamie & Hannah’s spring wedding. It’s certainly not a heat wave…..but it did at least stay dry for an outdoor wedding ceremony! Apparently the final decision had been left to Jamie to decide……now if getting married isn’t stressful enough for any groom, imagine the pressure of deciding if it a) may rain, b) was warm enough and c) if guests wearing heals would be able to traverse the lawn without becoming stuck!
Having the option of an outdoor wedding ceremony is one of the key features Ardington House offers, and one of the main reasons Hannah fell in love with this place for her wedding venue. It was therefore full steam ahead with the outdoor ceremony plans, despite the unpredictable May weather. Needless to say it was the right call in the end, and with keeping guests warm in the house prior to the wedding ceremony, all went well.
I’d not met Jamie and Hannah prior to their wedding day, yet spoken on the phone on several occasions. Hannah is simply the nicest person to chat too…okay, maybe I’m biased as she always says how much she likes my photography, so I’m clearly going to enjoy talking to her right!? She’d been reading my blog for many months on the run up to her wedding, and is the reason she originally came across my work – having seen Ardington House wedding photos on my old blog.
It’s always nice therefore to photograph clients weddings who really enjoy my work and approach to the wedding day. It was a relaxed affair, with a few formal photos and some couple portraits. Neither Jamie nor Hannah profess to be ‘great in front of a camera’ so it took some work to have them keep a straight face in amongst laughing perpetually!
Anyhow, here are a few photos from their wedding day…with more over on my facebook page. (www.facebook.com/mattdavisphoto)

So I totally LOVE this sequence of photos. You do have a slightly edited version for the blog, but to put you in the picture Jamie had a card, pressie and rose sent up for Hannah to open on the wedding morning. The expressions, gestures and moments when this was unwrapped were lovely. In future more grooms need to do this – got it gents!?
At this point you need to imagine all the bridesmaids saying things like “Awwwwwwwww you look amazing”.
Guests keeping warm inside Ardington House prior to their release into the gardens!
Go on….get that pin it!
Why do I liek this phot – or even take it you may ask. Well, wedding photography isn’t just about snap shots of one person. What I really like to show are the guests all together. Not every wedding has this perfect vantage point and grouping of guests together, but its the sort of photo you can keep coming back to and looking around at to see who ‘s where, doing what, chatting to who……..
Okay, quick explanation. Yep – the classic, bride peeping out window at guests arriving, but also trying not to be seen! Ohh the curiosity!
This is a common scene at many weddings, but on this occasion the framing and great light make this a super photo. (IMO of course….pat’s self on back!)
This shot just had to be taken.
Yay….love this photo again – it’s so Jamie & Hannah – enjoying their wedding day with guests during the drinks reception inside Ardington House.
That’s a super squeeze.
This makes me smile.
Did I mention these two laughed A LOT during the couple portraits :-)
This is a fab porch area huh? If only I owned that house – I’d be sat there drinking Pimm’s most evenings.
