Wedding photography Solihull – Greg & Kathryn

April 2015 in the UK and summer has arrived, but have we peaked too early?

Okay, so it’s now May when I’m writing this blog post, dressed in jeans and a jumper (my shorts have been put back away!).  40mph winds have been bending the bamboo horizontal in my garden and an unexpected nigh time frost got my early new potato’s on the allotment (yes, veg growing is indeed my new hobby!).  I can safely say April’s heat wave has passed and we’re back to business as usual.  I’m sure Greg and Kathryn were very pleased with this sudden warm spell though, as their wedding day had wall to wall with sunshine.  You all know I prefer an overcast day though, but hey, you’ve got to roll with the punches sometimes, and dealing with the big yellow blob in the sky is all in a days work for a wedding photographer.

With a wedding held in her home town of Solihull, they chose the local parish Church to get married and then held a reception at Copt Heath Golf Club just down the road. A very welcoming family kicked off the day with a cuppa, and I was looked after well throughout.  Clearly Brummy hospitality is widespread, as my many aunties & uncles (who live in that neck of the woods) all take a very similar approach to life, enjoying it and certainly being considerate of others in the process too.  The laid back style worked well and a little extra magic on the day was added by the talented magician Will Gray.  If you need some wedding entertainment, magicians are certainly great value to keep your guests on their toes.

You need a decent breakfast on your wedding day. And there’s nothing more weird than eating and a person taking photos of you – enter Matt the photographer!

Do I focus on the dress or the champagne?  Ummm????

An accident waiting to happen!

Close, but not quite!

The veil.  That moment when your close friends push sharp hair pins into your head, yet still the veil doesn’t stay put!

The ‘heart beat app’.  90bpm.  Is that fast?

No worries, you’re only later than the bride….and still not dressed :-)

Got my 2nd shooter in a good position here getting close up’s from the front row.

Do I take group shots. Everyone asks that? Well yes I do.  But usually guests take it first before I get chance :-)

Should you wish to know, it’s a rabbit.  I think it may not be finished at this point in the process.

Stunning unusual wedding photos

Selfie sticks are making an entrance at my 2015 weddings.
