Sometimes luck would have it that you have a Saturday available in your calendar that’s enquired about at very late notice. Alex & Olga’s Manor By The Lake wedding was one such day. This couple who reside in Dubai, only enquired about 6 weeks before the day, and I’m super pleased to say I was available, and not only that the weather in Gloucestershire was also on par with that offered abroad too! Clearly this was going to be a spectacular day. When I first Skype’d Alex & Olga they exuded fun yet a reassuring sense of calm & genuine trust in me to capture amazing wedding photos. Olga’s zest for life is infectious, and combined with Alex’s cool these two really work as a couple. If you’re planning on having a fun wedding day then please get in touch, really it makes my job a breeze!
The day itself was planned to perfection (after all Olga is a wedding planner in Dubai) yet as with all best laid plans you do still have to accept a swerve ball sometimes and this day was no exception. Classic sports cars certainly hold high regard in my world, but sometimes if you’re not used to how they work, driving them to and from the church / reception can lead to the inevitable breakdown. Worry not, arriving by taxi was just another facet that made the day memorable. The guests had a great laugh about this, as did Alex & Olga themselves. An international mix of guests made this quite a challenge for me when picking up on conversations in Russian or Dutch but a gesture translates in any language and when Olga’s bridesmaids suggested she pose for photos in the bath (with her wedding dress on I should add) I soon understood and clicked away at what unfolded!
So this wedding really was one to remember, great guests, awesome couple, amazing details, a local church in Cheltenham and the stunning venue of Manor By The Lake for the final wrapper. Sit back and take a peak at the mountain of photos I’ve shortlisted for your viewing pleasure.
The tiled floor in the entrance at Manor By The Lake is wonderful. The whole area is such a beautiful space, amazing light, great shapes and loads of character & details in the arches.
St Mary’s church, Charlton Kings, bathed in sunlight.
The main stained glass window in Charlton Kings church is stunning. Such a graphic layout when viewed from inside.
Only Olga would dance as she walks to church. Getting the most out of her wedding dress.
Officially the first time I’ve seen a selfie stick being used during a wedding ceremony.
That moment you arrive by taxi instead of the eagerly anticipated classic sports car!
The catalogue pose….
….and Olga’s pose!
If you are having a Manor By The Lake wedding give me a call. I’d love to hear from you, or stop by on your travels, it’s only 10 mins from my front door in Cheltenham after all.
