Manor By The Lake is a hidden gem in Cheltenham that simply not enough people get married at – why, I have no idea, but come on folks….it’s a great wedding venue. Here we have a small selection of Manor By The Lake wedding photos from Chris & Elisabeth’s autumnal wedding in October 2010.
When I first met Elisabeth it was one of those strange moments on my doorstep where I thought – you look familiar. Now I say that to a lot of people, usually presuming I’ve seen them at a wedding, around town, or in the supermarket. Cheltenham is a small’ish place after all. But we later found out we went to the same school – ta na!
Anyhow, all that aside it was great to hear I had been recommended to Chris by a friend who’s wedding I’d photographed previously. Referrals are a large part of my wedding business but with limited availability sometimes I’m already booked and we’re stopped at the first hurdle. Thankfully this wasn’t the case here and it was full steam ahead with their wedding.
Elisabeth had lived in London for some time working at Saatchi and Saatchi, possibly one of the most well known ad agencies in the world. It’s strange to think how lives change and paths cross again – and for their wedding day it was back on home turf in Ashleworth, Gloucestershire.

There was a long wait whist signing the register due to a spelling mistake on the first copy. 10 mins later it was a close call when I believe Elisabeth thought she too had done a blunder!

I’ve used these steps on a couple of occasions for group photos, they work so well and with the venue in the background give great context to your images.

I love this building. Manor By The Lake is sneakily tucked away in Cheltenham only a stone throw from B&Q, yet once in in grounds you could easily be mistaken for thinking it was set in secluded Cotswold countryside. A real hidden gem.
If you have been looking for Manor By The Lake wedding photos as you have your own wedding planned there…. give me a call, I’d love to hear from you….after all, I only live five minutes away!
