Kingscote barn is a popular wedding venue, set in the beautiful hills of Gloucestershire and even in winter it can look fantastic. As is typical, my day started firstly with a few scene setting photos of Kingscote Barn. Having got what I needed, I retreated back to the boot of my car to pick up my final few pieces of equipment, when BOOM, the sun came out, creating some magical light across the landscape, sculpting the undulations and pin pointing it’s rays over the barn itself. So, I went back to the beginning again, retracing my steps to take the same photos for a second time. It’s all in a days duties and I needed to ensure Kingscote Barn was shown off in the best light possible eh!?
Once the sun did finally came out it stayed with us most of the day. James & Suzie’s wedding was planned for later in the day (2:30pm) so it was necessary to get on with group photos and some couple shots pretty promptly after the ceremony to ensure we made use of the natural light. I’m sure the wintery nip in the air helped motivate people to move a little more briskly than on a warm summers day, although James’ best man was certainly a good herder when it came to sorting the troops!
So without further ado, here are a few Kingscote Barn winter wedding photos from James & Suzie’s lovely December day.
The barn is ready, all we need now are the guests.
Strike a pose, hands on hips please ladies!
Apparently the back of Suzie’s wedding dress is her favourite part. I can see why.
Great eye lashes huh? False or real, what do you reckon?
How good does Suzie look?
Make up by Pure Pampering and Hair from Chris Fordham.
“So she’ll walk in, right down the aisle, you’ll be fine, no tears, nothing. Be strong!”
In summer you could claim to be mopping your brow at this point in the proceedings, I think this may be grit in James’ eye (and his mums behind!). :-)
“Yep, we’re here to get married Mr Raffle.”
How great is this lighting canopy in Kingscote Barn today?
It’s important at a weddings to sit like minded people together. They’ll hopefully have something to chat about. Beards perhaps? It would appear the rules are, light beard light suit, dark beard dark suit – simple.
“Fill it right to the top please?”
Own up, who let this lady with the bird cage veil near the alcohol?
Camera shy!
It’s always nice when the photographer takes a photo of you eating canapés right?
Martix moves a plenty.
Gets everywhere that confetti.
“Okay, look ‘normal’ for the photos James”
That’s how to be kissed. LOVE this pic. No direction needed either.
Suzie worn a beautiful Jenny Packham wedding dress which suited her figure perfectly. I love the way it flows here with the veil and shawl.
After a quick turnaround by Strawberry Fields Catering the barn looked stunning ready for James & Suzies wedding breakfast.
Antipasti was order of the day for starters.
“Apparently it’s this big”
Yep, not once but twice. Now if only I could remember what he was referring to!
