The seasons are passing fast, yet autumn was still hanging in there (just) for Ian & Lauren’s Kingscote Barn Wedding in November. It’s not really the month for drinks on the lawn, but a brief glimpse outside to appreciate the view across the picturesque valley that Kingscote Barn is nestled into is a must. Thankfully the weather was fine, chillier than summer, but quite possibly drier! This gave me the opportunity to shoot the obligatory group shots outside as well as a few couple portraits…..which is really one of the only concerns with winter weddings at the Barn.
Onto the wedding day. Bridal preps were at Doughton Cottages near Tetbury in the heart of the Cotswolds. A collection of converted barns ideal for a small selection of close friends and or family to stay at who are attending the wedding. After it was onto the barn for a civil ceremony, followed by fine dining courtesy of Strawberry Field Catering and wedding speeches. A brief relax for teas & coffee followed by some moves on the dance floor…..albiet more of a shuffle!
So, this is an odd photo to start with Matt!? Yep. Call it a behind the scenes look.
This is where the flowers actually were…….
…..and this is where I popped the wedding bouquet to take a photo.
Every child must do this :-)
Bridesmaid dresses that ‘swoosh’ are top of every wish list when you’re under the age of eight!
Gran looks confused. A post box at a wedding, and photos? What’s that all about? Someone explain please.
At this point I’d like to point out that foliage hanging down from the balcony at Kingscote Barn may well look nice, but damn it makes it hard to take photos. So, if you’re thinking about decorating this area yourself in future, may I suggest less is more – aaarrrrgh!
Home made honey for table favours.
Strawberry Field Catering provided these wonderful antipasti selections for the wedding breakfast. I’d definitely recommend calling Lee for a chat f it’s something you’d like for your Kingscote Barn Wedding.
It wasn’t long before the little ones started to tire.
“Do I stand, don’t I stand” What is the etiquette when a toast is made for you? It’s not easy to keep getting up and down in a wedding dress right?
Triple tears…..that’s a winning shot if ever there was one.
