If there was ever going to be a wild wedding day, it was with these two. John & Alison had a wedding at Easton Castle that was such a laugh I could barely hold myself together to take the photos! If I’d met them prior perhaps I’d have been prepared, but having only spoken on the pone and/or by email I had no idea what awaited me.
It’s always the couples that make a wedding day special, then it ripples out to their friends and families to fulfil the supporting role. With supersize personalities, and more charisma than you can shake a stick at, these two were destined to be together. Yin & Yang. Him & Her. Mr & Mrs. (Or at least they would be a few hours later that day!)
Catching up with John in the car park with a hoard of friends arriving at the same time set the tone for the day. Everyone had a smile on their face, greeting each other with an embrace you save for your best friends and all done with a drink in one hand! After brief introductions I made my way up to the Bridal Suite in Eastnor Castle and caught up with Alison. O.M.G. if John was fun, then step up another level. Alison is in the room! With a supporting act of equally cheerful bridesmaids the day was set to be a blast. No shortage of alcohol could only enhance this experience, and I think this was the turning point where Alison may have started just a little too early on the fizz!! :-) Ahh well…..as long as she could walk down the aisle, we’re all good!
Jokes aside this was such a fun day, yes copious amounts of alcohol were consumed, yet the atmosphere and love in the room when these two meet was galactic! I
So take a peak at the fine day, with a selection of my favourite photos from this amazing Eastnor Castle wedding.
The stunning Eastnor Castle entrance (above) and beautifully decorated internal rooms (below).
That’s the smile. The face. The contagious personality of Alison all wrapped up in one… and was literally my first photo of the day!
I know, you’re asking yourself what an earth she’s doing right? Well, at this point I’d mentioned my general wedding day tip for brides…..that is simply this: If you need the toilet, sit on it back to front in your wedding dress it’s far easier (apparently). Hence the bridesmaid giving a demonstration!
It’s a nice touch when your son helps dress you eh dad!?
Dum, dum, de, dum. Alison and her brother (who gave her away).
I just LOVE these faces. These two are what photography is all about. Capturing personalities in a snap shot.
Okay, so this is a first for me. Bride and groom walking down the aisle (by themselves), with guests following into the room afterwards.
What a look?!
I could have included about 45 other photos similar to this one. I don’t think the regestras were ready for Alison & John. They didn’t exactly follow the rules of engagement during the ceremony. Quiet and demure were not in their dictionary!
“Put a ring on it!”
Whop whoop. Everyone should do this. Check out all the amazing faces and smiles around them…..this is what was so special about this wedding. Brilliant friends & family!
A spectacular setting for a wedding drinks reception.
Muse. Forms a big part of my playlist too!
Group wedding photos need bunny ears of course!
Affection……..boy style!
When you have a setting like this for photos I’m spoilt for choice. The grounds around Eastnor Castle are of an epic scale, including them in the couples portraits was a must.
Butter wouldn’t melt – would it?
Crikey…..what’s behind the door?
Stand back, someones given John a sword.
Alison also has the sword…..oh shit. She’s drunk and expected to cut a cake with a sword. What could possibly go wrong?!?
Stand back Matt, John has the sword and is waving it about again!?!
It’s important to pinch speakers bums as they try to keep the audience amused!
Alison’s brother was happy to have that over and done with.
Peek-a-boo
Amazing to see a father and son get on so well.
Arms in the air if you’ve had a good day? I think these two have! Congratulations John & Alison. An amazing wedding, an amazing couple and many memories.
