If you’re feeling glum, then I suggest you take five minutes out of your day and take a look through these uplifting photos from James & Heidi’s Cripps Stone Barn wedding. A couple couldn’t be more in love if they tried and I think we have a winner for this year’s smiliest bride award! If excitement were measured on a scale of 1-10 I think Heidi would have hit a 15 for her wedding day.
I should point out though, it’s not all smooth sailing at these dizzy heights. It can lead to forgetfulness, which in Heidi’s case was clearly directed at her bouquet. Having initially tried to leave it in the wedding card upon arrival, five minutes later she then walked down the isle still without it. But you know what, it really didn’t matter, as the smile on her face said it all. She was there to marry James, and that’s that! It wasn’t about the flowers, the dress, the car or the photographer (ohh hang on…..!) it was about the most important man in her life. With her niece and nephew paving the way with petals, Heidi entered the wedding ceremony at Cripps Stone Barn, with a beaming smile and infectious glow. Albeit the scattering of petals didn’t exactly go to plan, but hey!
With a simple ceremony to follow, and an enjoyable drinks reception, this day flowed with ease. September maintained it’s faultless record of perfect wedding day weather, even producing some stormy looking skies later on for a dramatic couple portrait. Weddings sometimes are so simple, and it’s about the people that really matters. Congratulations James & Hieid, what a wonderful day, and thanks for having me along to photograph it.
Swan Cottage at Minster Lovell. A beautiful place to start the day for bridal preps.
If there’s limited access, I just go outside and take photos through the window instead!
Around the time I was leaving, Heidi’s dad popped in for the ‘wedding dress reveal’. It was however a little premature, as at this point, she was still wearing the white dressing gown.
Cripps Stone barn has wonderful light filling the wedding reception.
Simple flowers, in decorative jam jars.
Now that’s how to sprinkle petals!
Like the cat that’s got the cream.
It may be a wedding ceremony, but sometime you just need lollipop no matter what’s going on around you.
That moment of giddiness. Is it the bubbles going to this head, or the buzz of being married?
Peek-a-boo. Lined up ready for confetti.
Work it!
This photo made me smile, then I noticed the option for the shot below too. Kids make for the funniest of photos, you just need to be patient and wait for the right moment.
You get some great skies across the open fields at Cripps Stone Barn, something we used to full effect again later on too.
I’ve even made it into this photo :-)
“Wedding speeches, meh, I’ve got bubbles to play with”
A few bets had been placed as to how soon James would cry……this moment came close!
During a quick break between meal courses, the light was perfect for a dramatic wedding portrait. It’s nearly always during the food and/or speeches this happens. You have to strike when the light is right though I’m afraid.
It’s a first for me….I’ve never seen the band get wedding guests involved too!
I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at these photos.
