Berkeley Castle wedding photography – James & Katie

Berkeley Castle wedding photography from James & Katie’s wedding in August 2011.

Yay a super day of weather for a Berkeley Church and Berkeley Castle wedding combo……. possibly one of the best double acts when it comes to wedding day arrangements we have here in Gloucestershire.  If you’re thinking Church ceremony, followed by a fairy tale Castle wedding venue then this pretty much offers the lot!  If like Katie you have bridal preps at a local hotel, you can squeeze a wedding car into the equation too!

Like many of my clients, James and Katie live in London, but chose to get married in the Cotswolds at the beautiful wedding venue Berkeley Castle.  We’d met beforehand at which point I was informed that both of them were not the best in front of a camera…..camera shy, one may call it.  This isn’t uncommon as many couple I phootgraph aren’t the typical flamboyant type who love to be the center of attention.  Thankfully my documentary wedding style means you’re not going to need to worry about posing for every photo.  Sure, a wedding group shot or two is typically needed, but really the rest of their day was spent as every wedding day should be – enjoying the experience with their friends and family.

This is a favourite photo of mine. I totally love these little moments where couples share a joke, or a smile with each other.

If you’re not married and ‘these’ people aren’t ‘your’ friends then it’s perhaps a photo that won’t mean a great deal to you.  From experience though, I’ve found these photos to be the ones that are really intriguing for the bride and groom to look back at afterwards, to see where friends were sat, who with and what was going on….effectively ‘behind their back’!

Clearly no one shared the hymn book with this little girl?!

If they don’t give you straws with your drink, you have to make your own entertainment.

If you are having a Berkeley Castle wedding and looking for a photographer please get in touch. I am a recommended supplier by Berkeley Castle and have several examples of wedding photography at this venue on my website and sample albums to view at the Castle.
