What Whatley Manor say about their wedding venue
Whatley Manor is a beautifully restored Cotswold manor house. This boutique hotel is situated close to Malmesbury, within easy reach of the M4 and London.
This Grand old manor house hotel with elegant decor and contemporary art, specialises in small intimate wedding receptions and civil ceremonies, including the facility for an outdoor wedding ceremony. In addition it offers fine dining and a cinema. All set within twelve acres of grounds, with contemporary sculptures, manicured gardens and woodland.
While away quintessentially english summer afternoons with a Cotswold Cosmo on the croquet lawn.
Whatley Manor offers something different to the usual hotel gardens, with it’s English Country Gardens, magical lighting and striking contemporary sculpture.

What I think of Whatley Manor as a wedding venue
This venue is perfect for intimate small weddings and offers fine dining with a Michelin starred restaurant. It’s a beautifully renovated Cotswold stone manor house, located only a few miles from the charming village of Malmesbury in Wiltshire.
If you’re travelling from outside of the area, staying in the hotel makes it simple for your guests on the day, and they too can enjoy the spa and facilities it has on offer. This makes the wedding day feel very relaxed, with no ‘late arrivals’ and often gives you the opportunity to catch up the night before the wedding too.
There are many local churches in the area, although with the option of an outdoor wedding ceremony, most couples will choose this is the weather looks fair. I’d definitely say this is a major attraction with Whatley Manor, as the garden are beautiful, and serve as an amazing backdrop during the ceremony and drinks reception out on the fountain terrace.
My experience of the staff was also excellent. In fact I’d say wonderful. They are considerate towards suppliers who work at the venue and accommodating at the same time.
From a photographers perspective the venue has plenty of space for wedding photos out on the lawn and around the gardens.
On an wet day, guests can use the indoor rooms to relax in, which are still reasonably light and bright and give the option of group photos, but only on a small scale.
