Wedding album options

Wedding album options

At present I offer two choices of wedding album.  A Photographic album and a Matted album (see full details below).  With each wedding album, there are a couple of options with regards to physical size, page count (number of photos) and cover type.  Within the range, additional extras are available to complement the main wedding album.  The options have been tailored to be simple yet flexible and offer you a quality product to best present your wedding photographs.

All wedding albums are printed, manufactured and assembled in the UK.  Both album styles are provided by the same manufacturer, who I have used since 2008 and continue to do so because of the quality and service they provide.

Photographic album

This stunning album features flush mounted edge-to-edge printing onto a traditional photographic paper.  This process gives a quality and depth to the photo, not typically achieved in cheaper  albums.  There are no limitations to page designs; you can showcase a single photo per page, or include a sequence to tell the story of your day.  You can also have photos printed across the spine of this album, as pages lay truly flat, so none of the image is obscured.

Photographic wedding album design options

Photographic album: page construction

Pages are constructed by pressing & gluing two prints back to back, forming a thick rigid single page, bound to the album spine.

Matted album

The term ‘Matted’ refers to the ‘Mats’ or maybe more commonly know ‘Mounts’, that are laid over the photographic print.  Imagine a picture hung on the wall, with a nice mount to frame it and give the image a little extra depth. This is how a matted album in constructed.  A thin page (your printed photo) sandwiched between mats (with apertures cut to the correct dimensions to reveal your photos).  A degree of overlap will occur on the edges of the photo which may occasionally obscure features that are close to the edge of the frame.

As a result of this construction method, pages are thicker than the ‘Photographic album’, which limits the album style to a maximum of 40 pages (around 100-120 photos).

The page construction is reminiscent of a more traditional album style, yet when combined with contemporary design, modern printing, a timeless leather cover (beautifully blind embossed) and elegant documentary photography, this certainly doesn’t look dated.

Wedding album options - Matted album

A highlight of the Matted album, is the option to have full page prints (akin to the Photographic album), alongside matted photos.  Please see the example below, showing a left hand page of four matted photos (as per the detail above), with the right hand side a full page print (i.e. no mat).

Note: Matted album spine & page construction.   A 30 page album is approximately 2″ (5cm) thick.

Album design

Included in the album packages is a personalised pre-design service.  Your album will be professionally designed with a fresh contemporary style, to illustrate the unique moments captured during your wedding. Sample layouts are shown below:

Note: Large album is 30 page Matted album.  Medium album is also 30 pages, but NOT matted, making a considerable difference to it’s thickness.

Additional options

Parent albums are sold singly or as a pack of two and have the same design as your main album.

Mini books are sold as a pack of eight and have the same design as your main album.

Two cover types are available.  Either black leather blind embossed, or a printed photo cover.
