With around thirty weddings to photograph this year in and around Gloucestershire, August tends to be the time everything starts to build up. Previous wedding clients are usually at the stage of making final decisions on their wedding album options, I’m typically right in the thick of it editing current weddings, and then the phone rings!
It’s Gavin, he’s back from Afghanistan (for just a couple of weeks) and wondering if now’s a good time to fit in their engagement photos? “Yes”, I say sheepishly….wondering when exactly I’ll find the time. It’s not so much fitting in a couple of hours to take some photos, but the time afterwards where I’m polishing the images and writing blog posts…..as everyone loves a blog post right? Anyhow, as with all my wedding clients I aim to please and squeezed Gavin & Sasha in organising to meet at Pittville Park in Cheltenham where I knew a fab summers evening would produce some stunning photos – now if only I could guarantee the weather.
Portrait photography isn’t something I find as much time to fit in as I’d like. It’s a great way to get to know my wedding couples and gives me the opportunity to get a little more creative with my photography. In fact, Google Gloucestershire Portrait Photographer and you’ll soon see ‘creativity’ is somewhat lacking with a few of the photographers that turn up at the top! For that reason I feel it should be my quest to make my way to page one of Google, just for this very reason!
I love this portrait of Gavin & Sasha. She has great eyes and the polka dot dress in black and white really stands out too.
Gavin & Sasha have a winter wedding planned for December this year at Berkeley Castle. I hope this summer engagement session will compliment their wedding photos and gave them the confidence to enjoy having their photo taken and just relax on the day.
