Many moons ago I was contacted by Bianca who was very excited about the idea of me being her wedding photographer. I recall her main concern at the time being the fact I’m based in Gloucestershire, and therefore would I cover her wedding at Caradoc Court (which is in Herefordshire). Safe to say, it’s not actually very far away (in fact it’s barely 50mins from my house) and I was delighted to have the opportunity to take photos at Caradoc Court, as this is a local wedding venue I’d not been to before.
At the time of booking we’d not met, but chatted a few times on the phone. Leading up to the big day Bianca had a few concerns over wedding timings so we met up and looked to find the best solution with regards fitting in all the necessary activities of a wedding day, yet working to a tight schedule. This also gave me chance to meet Bianca in person and have a chat about wedding photography too. She’d clearly been reading my blog and had enjoyed the various weddings I’ve shown here and knew my style of documentary wedding photography suited what she wanted on her wedding day. Best of all though, I loved the fact she used the term ‘trust’ when discussing photography. She was happy to leave me to do my thing……and you know what, we had a cracking day as a result.
So here are a few photos from the day, kick back and enjoy a fun filled collection of Caradoc Court wedding photos.
“O . M . G – I’ve made The Blog”
Bridesmaid: “Umm cake”
Dog: “Umm, I hope she gives me some cake”
“If you don’t give me cake, I’ll like the crumbs of this girls face instead!”
That’s some kinda cosmic hairdressing.
Dad got a quick rehearsal in before the big moment later.
What tan lines – you can barely notice them :-)
It’s all about the eyes…….
….and the eye lashes.
“Still hungry”
Yay, someone’s pleased to see you.
Dum dum de dum, dum de de dum….. Bianca arrives at St John The Baptist, Kings Caple, Herefordshire.
Wedding veils……..what a palaver eh! Never sit straight, blow around in the wind – puh, who’d have ’em.
Ooops, running a little late were we?
“Yep, he’s the one I’m here to marry”.
So what did Simon say I wonder?
Bianca’s sister did a fab reading……comedy and sincerity – nice.
“I’ll kindly take the ring thanks, and make Bianca my wife” :-)
Time was VERY tight for this wedding and Bianca had originally wanted a receiving line at the reception venue. To save time, I suggested an informal line often occurs outside the church and will probably suffice. Sure enough, it worked perfectly and meant we had just a little extra time at Caradoc Court for reception drinks prior to dinner.
It could take quite some time to get all that confetti out.
See you at Caradoc Court.
The fabulous Caradoc Court, with fountain and flower girls right on cue.
Inside Caradoc Court set for the wedding breakfast.
So the wedding cake. Whilst photographing it I’d already considered it a 9/10 IMO. Unique looking without being gimmiky, stylish yet refined. You get the idea. Then later during speeches I found out a wedding guests had made it. I must say, well done said wedding guests….and here’s a picture to remember it.
So here’s me thinking “ahh this’ll make a good spot for some photos…..just meander down there and look lovingly at each other”
“yeah, that’s perfect”…..
…..hang on, who’s this getting in on the action!? With only a very short time for photos there’s no time for stroking horses!
It’s a classic. Bride, bench, bouquet.
During speeches I learnt a lot about Bianca, but most resoundingly the fact she does have quite a few blonde moments!
If I tell you now that Simon is a fitness instructor, it’ll perhaps explain the exuberant arm gestures.
I kid you not, the best man really did tell the North Wales, Bang0r joke. (Google that if you’re unfamiliar with it!)
