Last weeks wedding at Kingscote Barn was a scorcher. The current heatwave throughout July & August has definitely been enjoyable for the shorts & flip flop wearing folk, but donning a suit or a wedding dress (I’m reliably informed of the latter having not actually tried it myself), is close to torture! Whilst my kids were playing in the paddling pool last week, I had a date with James, Phoebe and 30 degrees at Kingscote Barn for their big day. However, not only was it their big day, I too had more cards on the mantle piece than usual, having hit 37 that day too! It was a fairly short wedding day coverage for me therefore, as BBQ food and a pile of presents were awaiting my return later in the day.
With many weddings to photograph this month and a stock pile of pictures to process from July’s wed-a-thon (yes I have made that word up), I’m having to keep blog posts to a minimum, and concentrate on the main job in hand – actually delivering photos to clients in a timely manner. You may read my blog therefore and wonder what’s been happening, as despite shooting 6 weddings in the past 10 days (and working for 3 weeks straight), I’ve rarely had chance to update you all. Well a trickle of blog posts will now follow, although it’s simply not possible to publish everyones wedding, I’m working at max to achieve as many as I can…… balanced with the all important paddling pool time and parenting during the school holidays!
So I’ve chosen just 2 or 3 of my favourite photos from James & Phoebe’s day as a wee highlight whilst I work on more over the coming weeks. You can also see their engagement photos I took, which were on an equally fine day back in June this year.
Love the expression here on James’ face and the way the light catches it.
I popped this photo up on Facebook so you may have already seen it. Phoebe’s veil has a life of it’s own and starts attacking wedding guests. Ummmm, suits you Sir.
Meet & greets before dinner are always a miss match of heads bobbing about and very hard to photograph. Its’s great when the timing works out and faces fall into place like this shot above.
If you are having your wedding at Kingscote Barn, please drop me a line, I’d love to hear from you. You can see more Kingscote Barn weddings on my blog, as well as many more weddings throughout Gloucestershire.
