Daren & Ruth’s wedding booking came very late by typical standards, only securing my services about two months before their wedding date. Clearly they must be a laid back couple, or simply happy to go with any photographer who was available ;-) Once we met up and started chatting, I realised it wasn’t the latter as they were fairly clear on the style and quality of photos they wanted. An unobtrusive approach to the day, to include a handful of group photos and a few couple portraits. Coverage for me was also going to be shorter than normal too, as Ruth asked that I start at the church, deciding bridal prep photos weren’t for her.
It was a small wedding by some standards, with only around 60 guests. The ceremony took place at St Martin’s Church, Horsley near Nailsworth in Gloucestershire, followed by reception drinks at the Hare and Hounds, Westonbirt. I’d not been to this wedding venue before so was looking forward to capturing some wedding photos at a new place.
So, here you have a few Hare and Hounds wedding photos from Daren & Ruth’s wedding in May 2013.
St Martin’s Church, Horsley
It took me a while to register why I recognised the vicar, but following a quick chat post wedding ceremony I found out he covered the local parish, including Kingscote Church, where I’d obviously seen him before. A very friendly man, who allowed discrete photography during the wedding ceremony too – wahoo.
Two pretty pleased people.
Love this cheeky smile and gesture of holding hands here.
The runaway bridesmaid.
Whoop whoop.
I didn’t notice the gun slinging groom in my photo straight away, quite the quick draw eh?
The ‘Barcelona Girls’.
“Bye folks, we’re off to the Hare and Hounds”
The Hare and Hounds wedding venue, Westonbirt.
This room at the Hare and Hound is great for wedding photos – wonderful light.
She too wondered why everyone was sitting inside when the weather was so fine out?
