Buckle up and get your hankies ready, I’m about to bring you a fine selection of Stanton House Hotel wedding photos from James & Ellies’s big day in November. Yet again another fine day weather wise, which makes me think, all this flooding in Gloucestershire has to stop sometime soon, we’re still waiting for summer right? Pah, maybe next year :-)
Onto James & Ellie. As if by magic they came to me through two recommendations from friends, both who’s wedding I’d previously photographed. One being the fabulous wedding of Colin & Kimberly at the stone barn in Sept 2011, and the other Tim & Jen’s wedding, which was sooooo many moons ago now it’s not even on my new blog. So, a big thanks to these guys for firstly singing my praises and secondly having such fun friends. You kinda know it’s gonna be a good wedding when you’ve previously met a few of the guests, plus the bride and groom are very much on my wave length when it comes to photography. Maybe it’s the fact Ellie is a graphic designer, perhaps it’s the fact James is a plumber (ohh hang on….!). Either way, they’re certainly a stylish couple, looking to have a fun wedding day with less hype and more hilarity, so bring on the party.
As with any wedding, let’s get this party started with some Champagne….just go careful not firing off the cork into anyones eye. No one likes a bride with a black eye on their wedding day!
This is just one frame from a fab sequence of Ellies mum having her make-up done. Love the facial expression.
“what a gift, for me….you’re too kind”
“Just praying the day goes well, there’s a lot of pressure being chief bridesmaid, what if I forget to fluff the dress”…..hopefully the hair will hold though ;-)
Am I allowed to blog this? Does it spoil the illusion!?
It all went very serious at this moment. Little did they know it was James who was most nervous…..
…..ahh we did have one mini melt down though with a few bridesmaid tears. Bless.
Stanton House Hotel has this handy church literally a stones throw from the hotel entrance. How good is that? I bring you St. Leonard’s Church, Stanton Fitzwarren……and a nervous James.
Did I mention the guests were fun….even the babies are high five’ing.
Quick someone distract James from the job in hand. Ahh, give him his niece to cuddle – job done.
Meanwhile half a dozen bridesmaids and a beautiful bride are fast approaching.
At this point I’d quickly like to pimp Ellie’s mum & dads wedding cars. I say wedding cars, I think they are in fact just a hobby, but how handy is that. If you’re after something vintage with a cool edge, why not get in touch, I’m sure they could do the occasional run or two for cool couples wanting a Hummer wedding car.
At this moment in time James is holding it together, but clearly mum (in the background) already has the tissues out.
Big breath James. And you’ll thank me for this, I’ve left out any evidence of you actually crying.
Yay…….Ellie’s arrived and we’re all good. And don’t worry James, what happens on tour, stays on tour, you’re secret is safe with me….the 3 frames of you with ‘damp’ eyes are hidden in the archives on this occasion.
A very important job, done with accurate precision.
Yay, there’s Tim & Jen :-)
Clearly the service wasn’t all that interesting for some guests…..however I should say the Vicar was one of the most accommodating and interesting speakers I’d heard in a long time.
Vicar tells jokes……
….wedding guests laugh.
This may look slightly random but if I told you he was a conductor for the choir who sang during signing of the register it’ll all make sense right?
Yay…..top bridesmaid award goes to this lady.
As it’s winter, very soon after leaving the church I did a few group shots & a quick couple of portrait photos. Meanwhile guests stood nearby watching and entertaining!
So where did the car fit in, when the church s only 10 yards from the wedding reception. Simple, a drive around the block and then pretty much back to where you started from – Stanton House :-)
What great tables names, taken from favourite biscuits.
….and the best wedding cake of the year award goes to (drum roll please). Whoever made this – how fantastic is that!?
“I wanna go back outside, for some fresh air, I feel a bit queazy after the beer”
Okay, this is a good start for the couple photos, but I need to you give me more? What you got? Show James some love, think Vogue cover shot, elegance, finesse……
…there look at that, now kiss him…..
…..fwit fwooo…..
Ellie: “I feel like a right idiot Matt”
Matt: “Is this not how you kiss James normally”?
So a little variation on a doorway theme again. Maybe you saw this one on my FB page….if not, what have you been doing all this time – go on, hop on over, ‘like’ the page and you’ll get to see more fantastic wedding snippets as they arrive, straight to your FB feed.
That’s a catalogue pose if ever I saw one. :-)
What did guests use before the iphone stopwatch.
There were some close to the bone best man jokes…even if I do say so myself.
But it seems such a shame to eat the cake.
First dance was pretty safe…….and then came Gangnam Style.
Have you been searching for Stanton House Hotel wedding photos? Are you having your own wedding here? If so give me a call, I’d love to hear from you.
