Roll up, roll up, today I have a fine serving of wedding photography from Stephen & Stephanie’s Cripps Stone Barn wedding in May 2012 (try and say that after a few drinks…..not that I’ve been drinking of course!)
First up I’m not ging to tell you about the wedding day, but simply how cool Stephanie’s sir name is / was. Miss Stephanie Holliday. I’ve officially never met anyone with such a great sir name. Miss Holliday, I kinda like that. I’m sure Stephanie Wren will work well too, but it’s such a shame to loose this great sir name. Anyhow, waffle over, onto the wedding.
Stephen & Stephanie got married at Cripps Stone Barn, Gloucestershire, which is the second time I’ve worked here now, seeing as it’s a pretty new venue in the area. Stephanie’s dad described it well: “It’s odd looking from the ouside, but has a great feel inside.” I’d totally agree with that. It’s defiantly a ‘rustic’ looking barn from the outside (it was a cattle shed after all!) but once inside has an interesting blend of old and new, where the refurbishment has taken place. To get more of a feel about the place you can also read about Cripps Stone Barn wedding venue on my site here.
As with all my weddings I’d chatted with the bride and groom prior to their wedding day and got some details about their plans. Bridal preps were to start off in Cheltenham, followed by the wedding ceremony and drinks reception all taking place at the Stone Barn. The groom & guests however would be traveling to the venue by red double decker bus with the bridesmaids close behind in pink taxi cabs…….not your typical travel arrangements! Clearly a coulourful day was in order :-)
So, without further ado here are a selection of photos from Stephen & Steph’s Cripps Stone Barn wedding.
Stephen had given this bracelet to Steph as a wedding morning gift. Nice nails btw!
Here comes that big red double decker wedding bus full of guests.
Just imagine the shame of arriving at the wedding after the bridesmaids – come on ladies, hurry along!
The brides arrival, a pinnacle moment in the wedding day…..
….so why are all these guests still outside….
….quick hide around the corner where no one can see you! I’m not sure this is quite the arrival Steph had in mind!
Cripps Stone Barn has great light for photography…..for those guests sat in the front row at least anyhow :-)
Only a confident groom can look good holding a colouful bouquet of flowers next to a pink car!
It’s a lucky horseshoe making an appearance I do believe!
What a fab table plan…..not sure who was in charge of the design but I’d like to pass on my congratulations on a fine job.
A pretty nice looking cattle shed by anyones imagination!
From this (above) to this (below) with a swift puff of wind! The Stone Barn is certainly exposed to the elements, so make sure you tie your hats down folks when attending a wedding here!
Gran was certainly a character, not only animated during the wedding speeches, she was also heckling me during the group photos!
This was a great comedy moment. Steve ‘stalled’ saying they’d forgotten a gift for this little usher. Then, from behind him produced this excellent sk8board. What a rad gift….he was certainly stoked. (do you see what I did there – totally down with the kids me!)
