Come on board and read all about Manor House Hotel wedding photography from Russell & Grace’s autumnal wedding in October 2011. Having met Russell and Grace prior to their wedding day, I knew they were the kinda cool clients who just wanted me to photograph their day without a fuss, and for the photography to blend in and not become a large part of the day. The brief was, relaxed documentary wedding photos, very few groups and only a splash of the posed couple stuff.
When we first met I recall Russell mentioning he was a Potter, and that many of the wedding decorations would have a personal touch. It’s was apparent fairly early on that his eye for design had made it’s way onto the wedding blue print, with a cool logo on the wedding stationary and one off hand made vases on each table. Grace had some lovely touches too on her wedding day as she used her grandmas wedding veil to give a vintage look combined with a floral headband.
The day was set to be a scorcher with temperatures of 28 degrees (crazy for October huh!), just imagine wearing a suit and/or thick wedding dress – yikes. Thankfully the wedding was taking place all at Manor House Hotel, so the logistics were simple – not too much rushing around in the heat! A close set of friends and family, wedding ceremony, drinks on the lawn followed by speeches and fine dining.
The homemade wedding stationary.
So, who has the brownest legs?
It can get pretty hot under those wedding dresses.
….and breath Russell. Now is it the heat, the drama….or both?
This is such a nice touch, Russell extending his hand to Grace as she arrived for the ceremony.
Great faces by mum & dad, brilliant to see some tears from the bridesmaid – BUT HANG ON………who’s more interested in the wedding flowers? :-)
In the gardens at Manor House Hotel for the wedding drinks reception. Note: everyone clinging to the shade for a little bit of cool.
Here you can see the homemade vases by Russell. If you look closely you can see they are individually embossed with their wedding date, neat huh?
High five.
It was a hot day and for anyone doing a wedding speech… at the best of time is make you a little hot under the collar, let alone in 28 degree heat.
Did I mention the amazing autumnal light? Well, bingo, here you have it. Sometimes wedding days end on a high and it was great to have these dreamy shots to finish with.
Despite being a hotel in the middle of town, Manor House Hotel have great gardens for wedding photography, and with light like this I’m a happy man.
