William & Kelly’s Barnsley House wedding in May 2011.
William (originally from the US) & Kelly (South African) made their wedding day at Barnsley House one to remember for all their international guests. They had an intimate wedding with around 40 guests, clearly planned the perfect weather, and as a result took advantage of an outdoor wedding ceremony in Barnsley House’s garden. It really is the perfect wedding venue, not only is it a stylish Boutique Hotel, but the gardens are magnificent, especially in the spring, although it came a little too early this year to catch the famous Laburnum in flower for their wedding day.
The stylish nature of Barnsley House makes for great wedding photography. You also don’t need to over do your own wedding details. Kelly did have very unique flowers though, with a matching button hole for Will. (check out the photos below).
The wedding ceremony started later in the day at 4pm, which certainly gave the day a relaxed feel. After a splendid drinks reception on the lawn, guests were invited inside for dinner and speeches, followed by an evening drinks reception around 8pm out by the private pond and garden room.
The gardens of Barnsley House set ready for an outdoor wedding ceremony.
Love this photo. It’s very typical of kids to find all this wedding stuff ‘too much’!
What a great looking flowers girl hey? Can you draft her in to other weddings please?
The face on the guy on the right is priceless. Brilliant use of the ‘one handed photo’ technique too.
This was a really neat looking button hole for the guys.
This table arrangement for the wedding breakfast worked well as they only had a small number of guests. It did however make it exceptionally tight to move around for the wedding speeches I later found out!
