Last (ish) weekend was a double header of weddings, with Jake and Nina picking a Friday to tie the knot at Kingscote Barn. Actually that’s not quite true. They got married at Kingscote Church, then went onto Kingscote Barn afterwards for drinks, canapés, food, tales of their youth (aka speeches) & dancing.
I followed the action, took some photos and generally had a fun time. If you wish to see more, then scroll on down…a picture tells a thousand words.
“ohh what lovely lashes you have…let me capture those in silhouette”
Fairly soon after I’d arrived at Spring Cottage, everyone upped sticks and left! Was it something I said? ;-) In fact, they went over to the main barn buildings for final bridal preparations, where upon my arrival I was greeted by the papparazi……
Wedding photography was meant to be my job, who’s this getting in on the action?
There must have been a lot of photos of me.
Twin sisters…..they even sit the same.
Did they smell nice?
Is it wrong to use the same line as I did on FB?
Head, shoulder’s, knees and toes, knees and toes :-)
Eskimo kisses – ahh
Yay, Gerry (Nina’s dad) has arrived….better still Nina has a gift for you, go on, open it and see what it is……
….you could drink Champagne at the same time too, but only if you have a spare hand.
Time for a ‘posed picture’.
At this moment Nina hasn’t checked out Jake – she’s too busy smiling at the wedding guests…..but wait….
….ah, now she’s seen him!
…yep, definitely seen him NOW.
The view from the balcony in Kingscote Church.
Step 1: Get the ring on
Step 2: Kiss
Step 3: Smile at the congregation
Step 4: Confirm you’re married with a thumbs up.
Step 5: Confirm you’re happy to be married with an ‘okay’.
After all that excitement Nina’s dress had gotten all outa shape – cue the chief bridesmaid.
I know, it’s so hard to sing when a photographer stands in front of you taking photos.
Signing of the wedding register threw up a good dose of cuddles, photo op’s and somewhat unexpectedly the best man and bridesmaid styling it up!
Checking out the bling…..
….and photographing the bling.
“Oh, hi, you came, thank you sooo much”. Little did Nina know they weren’t singing very loudly during the hymns though.
Best man & bridesmaid still stylin’ it up. Good work.
Goodness only knows what those faces are about. Having posted it here and commenting I’m really hoping that isn’t in fact their genuine faces!
Them pesky critters do tend to get stuck in veils.
Lovin’ the idea of tin cans, but it has to be said they didn’t last too long on the back. Shortly after I found most of them 5 yards further up the road, sadly not attached to anything anymore :-(
Fresh idea for the wedding table plan. That’ll be Maria Wilcox at Sorori Design weaving her magic again.
If you’ve read my blog before you’ll be familiar with this place. But for all you first timers, this is inside Kingscote Barn.
T’was a bit chilly for Nina’s Ozzie bridesmaid.
Wedding group shots. Yep, here’s a new one on me. Can you guess they play football?
Meanwhile, whilst setting up this next group shot (which incidentally is all the ‘couples’), the single crew tucked into canapés and beers a plenty.
With five minutes to spare I took the newly wed couple for a few informal photos around the grounds of Kingscote Barn……which inevitably means leaning on a fence and kissing at some point.
whoop whoop
Gerry did his speech, aided by his beautiful assistant demonstrating the cards to open on your tables….
Would you Adam & Eve it, Jake & Nina have known each other since they were in nappies.
That must be some kinda Guiness Book Of Records going on surely?
Come on son, don’t cry…that’s it, drink more wine, that’ll sort you out.
Is this a quibble…..
…ohh well recovered.
Uh oh, not close to tears again…..
…mum clearly got a piece of grit in here eye there in the background I see!
Yes, not one, but two best man…..we have a double act.
Yay, that’s it, all over with only a slight humiliation – phew!
If you are having your wedding at Kingscote Barn, please drop me a line, I’d love to hear from you. You can see more Kingscote Barn weddings on my blog, as well as many more weddings throughout Gloucestershire.
